As some of my other reviews make clear, when I head to a destination I usually take a DK Eyewitness book. However, Copenhagen appears not to deserve the full book but only one of these highlights books. While containing a lot of information I find these books less cohesive than the main books as they are grouped more by types (as things are in lists) rather than geographical areas. It is still better than most guidebooks, and does come with a useful map, but it is not of the same standard for me as the usual full guides. However, some might like the fact that as a result the book is a lot lighter than the full DK guides and easier to keep in jacket pockets.

The DK Eyewitness guides are always my go to travel companions as they are not lumped with too much text and have plenty of colourful images with as the title puts it a list of "top 10" things to see. They are also compact and fit into any handbag or daypack. I normally find the hotel and how to get there sections a bit pointless as you normally have booked somewhere to stay before turning up in the city and would like to see more pages dedicated to things to see/do. I'm also not sure the top 10 guides are suited to larger cities and I tend to go for the "larger and more complete" DK Eyewitness guides.

I always buy DK guides when traveling, dependable quality & content. Perfect for first time visitors to any city/country. I tend to choose the top 10 books when I am going to a specific city or if I just have a few days in that place and want to make the most of my time.

These eye witness guides are always good. Some people swear you're Lonely Planet guides but I like the highly visual lay out of those books. Very practical, useful and readable.

Very good coverage, but not tested it yet! Hopefully soon.

Neat book for a 5 day trip to Copenhagen with the kids. Lots of maps and it covered all the main things we wanted to do.
